First birthdays are an exciting milestone and a cake smash photo session not only captures beautiful memories, but has fun factor in spades! Our 4-inch vanilla cakes are made by Little Red’s Patisserie and are 100% allergy safe. You can choose a basic semi naked cake, or take it to the next level with a cake to complement your theme.
Our advice is to keep the cake as simple as possible, so that it doesn’t detract from the hero of the photo – the gorgeous birthday girl / boy!
We are experts at transforming visions into reality and take care of everything from the outfit and set up, right through to the mini bath at the end. Now that’s the icing on the cake!
Cake Smash sessions are best when your little one is between 10 and 12 months old (when they are sitting unassisted but not yet walking) and are approximately 1 hour long.

What does your session fee include?
Your $200 session fee includes:
- Allergy safe custom cake to suit your chosen colour/theme.
- The session itself with a clean portrait session first, followed by the smash.
- A custom backdrop and outfit to suit your colour/theme.
- A beautiful Australian made wood print with your favourite photograph.
- Gallery viewing of your beautiful photographs.

2. Pre Session-Info
This is where we workshop ideas and themes, and gain a thorough understanding of all your photo session wants and needs. This can be done via email or a phone call prior to your session.
We’re talking the look and feel, the cake, and the style of wall art to complement your décor. No stone is left unturned!
3. It’s Your Session Day!
Let’s have some fun celebrating and capturing that milestone. We start off with a nice clean portrait session to get your little one warmed up and feeling comfortable.
We then move into the messy cake smash and finish with a nice warm bubble bath. All you need to bring is a change of clothes for you (cake can end up everywhere – including on mum and dad!), a drink bottle, and some light snacks for your little one.
4. Gallery Viewing
Either straight after your session or 1 week later (depending on the arrangement), you will relax in the office with delicious snacks and drinks as you preview your gallery of photographs, wall art mock-ups, and select your package.
We also process payment at the gallery viewing.
5. Collection Of Your Wall Art!
Around 3-4 weeks after your photographs have been edited, your products will be ready to be displayed in your home and loved forevermore.

3. Its your Session day!
We start off with a nice clean portrait session to get your little one warmed up to us and the studio. We then move into the messy cake smash part and finish with a nice warm bubble bath. All you need to bring is a change of clothes for you (parents can get a little covered in cake) and a drink bottle and some light snacks for your little one.
4. Gallery Viewing
Straight after your photo session, or 1 week after, you will relax in the office with yummy snacks and drinks to preview your gallery of photographs, wall art mock-ups and select your package.

5. Collection of your wall art!
Around 3-4 weeks after your photographs have been edited, your products will be ready to collect from the studio and to be displayed in your home.
